Having played various forms of league cricket from a young age and realizing what passion and opportunities it can create I decided to facilitate others through coaching. With much of my working background focussed on mentoring, coaching, and problem solving, an opportunity arose to develop those skills further in working with young people to encourage strong fundamentals from the off.

Working with data and analytics, and understanding the power of these in performance improvement remains at the heart of my approach, and BatSense and the SmartCricket app offers an opportunity to hone this more easily. I have Started using BatSense a little while ago for the bat of my little one who plays junior cricket for a local cricket club, Aspley. What I really like about BatSense is the amount of data it generates for every batting session.The data we get is really detailed and accurate such that it allows me to improve my son's game. I am a coach with the local club as well, which my son plays for and I train a lot of kids.

I can surely say that BatSense is quite a useful tool for us. One can look at the batting patterns of various kids and can try to correct their mistakes about how they play a particular delivery. I would recommend this to any coach who is training kids to have this device as this would help them personally as well for an academy or a club. There are quite a few features in the app which I really loved. I like the smart video feature because it not only gives me the data but it also gives the video of the particular shot being played. Another feature which I really like is the match mode when the batsman doesn't have to be in the vicinity of the mobile phone.

I really love the match mode feature, so once my son comes back after playing a match I can sync the data to the app and sit down to analyze what went wrong, where he played good shots and what shots we can improve upon.It’s definitely a very useful tool and I would recommend to any Coach or any individual to look at how they are performing while batting and to buy this tool. It's definitely gonna improve their batting and their cricket.

SmartCricket’s BatSense is very easy to use and affordable. It has such amazing features through which we can get our training data as well as Match data. Match mode feature allows one to play a match and come back and sync the data to the app. The great thing about this is it can be used for any amount of Batters. Compared to 80s- 90s Cricket that we have played, Cricket has been completely revolutionized. In the 90s we used to play Test cricket and the 50 over format, now it has changed. We have a lot of T20s, T10 leagues, 100 ball formats being played.

So if you want to win in such formats, Batters have a huge role to play and they dominate the game by scoring more runs. Hence, mainly we have to focus on our Batters as they have to score runs. With the help of this sensor, one can monitor a Batter’s performance with the help of data it generates and provide improvement solutions.So it’s a great invention from SmartCricket. I have been using BatSense for 2 months now. It's been really helpful from what I have seen. It gives me data of what I see from my eyes. It measures if something is off in terms of timing, impact, angle etc. BatSense has really changed the way I approach my lesson plans. BatSense give clear picture, if the timing was off, or the way they hold their bat. That helps in seeing the mistake and correct the players.

One of my favourite features is Speed Impact, it tells me a lot. It tells me if they played too early or if they are going for the ball, if they are holding their bat back. Also, it allows me to see when they are not using their energy properly in a shot, that's definitely a key feature for me. I also like the impact angle. I know if they play too early or late that helps me to change their game. So when they go into power hitting I want to get them in the right angle hitting the ball.

When you play the hook shot it shows you the bat angle whether you're hitting with open face, or coming under the ball and slicing it or if you are playing it horizontally. All of these features have helped me in my training sessions and what I am doing at the time. It really helps my students in those regards.

It helps all the coaches in coaching, BatSense helps you in understanding your backlift, at angle, hand-eye coordination, impact timing. The major reason I got BatSense is that right now we are researching the U14, U16 and U19 categories to understand the power-hitting differences. BatSense gives a clear picture of shot efficiency, to know if the ball has bit the middle of the bat or not.

Also, the impact timings give you an idea if the batter has timed the ball well or not. BatSense has been really helpful in terms of coaching. I would definitely recommend coaches and players to get BatSense to improve their game and unearth the next best player. I can also track a player's fitness using the calorie burn feature.

We have been using BatSense for the last 2 years and found it to be an amazing product. The live stats of each shot is one of the best features I like along with a video comparison of 2 shots where you can analyse the mistakes and easily rectify them.

My experience with BatSense has been wonderful as a Coach as well as a Player. As a player, you are able to record, view and analyse your individual sessions. Instantly analyse the shot time, power of your shot and bat angle. The wagon wheel is one of my favourite features, I am sure everyone is familiar with the wagon wheel which we have seen in live matches. As a coach, you are able to set individual goals for your players to improve their performance while batting.

The data generated helps batters to improve their batting on their own and avoid the mistakes while batting.

The BatSense device comes with a lot of features with the help of which batters can know what was their Bat Speed, Bat angles, time of impact and follow through.Hence, these metrics would allow Batters to take necessary corrective measures to improve their batting.

This small piece of technology is creating a wave with its abilities to map the batters stroke, timing and swing.

In Traditional coaching, often we need to repeatedly explain to a beginner how to swing their bat to complete a stroke, relying on the trainees memory power. The BatSense app allows the learner to refer back to the coaching session, visualize the stroke and practice the same type of play over and over ingraining into a young one's mind. This makes it easier for a coach, when we know the trainee has their own corrected information at the tip of their fingers.
